Yes,
Pay What You Want.
But I ask a few things of you in return.
First, please pay at least one dollar. One dollar covers all my fees
and costs to make the download available, and perhaps even a few pennies
more to help me make a new record. And it's less than a cup of coffee
or a soda, or about a single song on iTunes! But don't stop there! Pay
a little more and make it even easier for me to make a new record. You
don't know how much every little bit helps! I've mentioned this many
times - I don't make a profit doing this - I've spent thousands more
making music than I've ever made back! Why name your own price? Well,
I want you to own this record, and enjoy it, and if choosing to pay
a buck, or five, or ten, or whatever makes you feel good to get it and
to know that I'll think the world of you for helping me out, well, it
can't get much better than that.
Second, please don't redistribute this version of the record anywhere.
Not on any P2P, torrent, or other "sharing" sites, or copying it for
friends. You see, I believe it's my right, as it is any
artist's right, to decide and control how, where, and for how much their
work is distributed. Please respect this and I'll respect you right
back. And if you know someone who might want to hear this record, please
send them to http://www.radio-valkryie.com/ao/aoindex.htm where they
can pay what they want, or even get a free version.
Those who know me know I am pretty vocal about people not paying for
music that they want to own - especially independent music - as I think
we're in an era where we're doing a lot of damage to the really good
music out there. Sure, there are some corporate interests that the world
would be better off without, but to hurt small labels and artists by
the same means that are used to protest such things is causing more
harm than good. So, please, support the music and musicians you like
so they may continue to make more music more easily.
Remember,
too, that this version of the download comes free when you buy the CD.
So that's an option, as well.
Thanks for reading and understanding, and I hope you enjoy the record.
Cheers- Mark Alan Miller of Out Out
