News 2007:

The Breathing Again EP CD is almost ready to go. We've scheduled a release date of January 15th, 2008. It will contain the first new vocal Out Out song in over a decade (the title track) in two versions (one short version, one long version) as well as alternate cuts from Virtual Sound Images CD (an alternate arrangement of "Forestry For The Thieves") and from the upcoming Assumed Outrivaling CD (a faster, alternate arrangement of "I Am Dauntless Vigour"). And the other cool bit, two videos by Masked Films' Shane Cole. One is "Duchess" (which has been released on YouTube and MySpace for some time now, but is presented here in a nice high-resolution version that looks great at full-screen!) The other video is for the Assumed Outrivaling CD track "And Give Lustrous Aim" - and we can't be more excited about how cool this video is! Also presented at high-resolution for those who pick up the EP.
The EP will be packaged in a handmade sleeve. Tres Old School. But we promise it's cool. Really cool.
*We're running a cool promo some of you might want to get in on. For a limited time, buy an Out Out TShirt, take a pic of yourself in it and make it your MySpace profile pic. Post a comment on the Out Out Cyber Street Team MySpace page (>>here<<) - add us as a "friend" if you're not one already - and we'll add you to the top friends on that page. And as long as you keep that picture as your default profile pic until January 15th, we'll send you a free Breathing Again EP to be in your hands by the release date!

Our good friend Josh Morgan has resurrected the Out Out Cyber Street Team page on MySpace. We're grateful for his hard work! Head on over to the page >>here<< to join - and then stay tuned over there for some cool things we've got planned...
Also, there's a new interview conducted by another good friend, Gabe Wilkenson of Microwaved, over on his blog. Read it >>here<<.
Just a reminder that if you see our stuff available for download, generally on Russian sites, for pennies on the dollar - they are NOT paying us when you download from them. They are selling our stuff without permission and the only people who make any money from those sales are crooks. Every penny counts, and it sucks having fans thinking they're supporting us when they buy from these sites, when they aren't! If you're looking for inexpensive Out Out downloads, places like Napster, PayPlay and eMusic are all legit. If you're not sure if the site you're looking at is ripping us off or not, just ask. Thanks.

No sooner than SnoCap becomes incompatible with our needs, SoundStation comes to our attention!
All Out Out (except for the Pepperbox Muzzle: Demobox) and Vein Cage albums, and select singles, are available through them now. The really cool thing is you can just pay right there in the store widget, with common cards, PayPal, Google Checkout and Amazon Checkout. Great options.
If there is a particular single track that you want to buy through SoundStation, and we've not made it available as a single, let us know, and up it goes for you. We take requests!
I other news, our superb friend and fan Josh has started assembling a new Out Out Cyber Street Team on MySpace. Stay tuned for more details...

It's been a while since there's been news. And with good reason. We've been busy.
There is a new Out Out EP in the works, timed to tide things over until (and hopefully help raise money for) the release of the Assumed Outrivaling CD. This EP has the first vocal song I've done in over a decade. In two versions, one regular-length and one extended macro-version. Also an alternate version of a track from Virtual Sound images, an alternate version of a track from Assumed Outrivaling, and the new video for another song from Assumed Outrivaling, written and directed by Shane Cole of Masked Films (the man who did the amazing Duchess video. It's unbelievably fantastic.) The large space offered on a CD when only an EP's worth of music is on there will allow us to put a really high quality version of this video on there to do it justice. If there's space, the Duchess video will be included, too - marking it's official release on physical media. The new video will also debut on YouTube in low-res at the same time (good for you all who prefer to buy things as legal downloads, as the videos aren't going to be available from iTunes and all that.)
Also, there's a buzz about in the Vein Cage camp about a new EP. More on that as that develops.
Finally, we've come to the decision that SNOCAP is not a good match for us, and are leaving the service. Apologies to those who use them as their music store of choice, but they're not working out for us.
Listening to the New Wave channel on Rhapsody radio, old jazz standards LPS, and reissues of The Wake, Department S and Section 25 on CD, among other things.
8.30.07
The Download Services Page now hosts links to iTunes, and on-page shops for SNOCAP and PayPlay.fm users.
All these releases are also now available as complete-album downloads in very high quality MP3 format through CD Baby!
Aside from these services, downloads for Radio Valkyrie releases can be found on almost every major legal downloading site.
As a reminder, there are several illegal sites that charge too-good-to-be-true prices for downloads. If you see our releases priced at a dime or so a song, or a buck or two an album, and especially if the site seems Russian as well, assume that they are not paying us for downloads. These sites are unauthorized by Radio Valkryie (and pretty much every other band and label out there, too) to sell our recordings. Do not support them. Also, they are generally associated with scams to steal credit card numbers, so there's that, too. If you have any questions about this, for example, if a site is legit or not, please email us and we'll sort it out for you. Thanks.

Pandora has "Virtual Sound Images" in their Music Genome Project database and on the station, now!
Support independent online radio like Pandora - it's a beautiful thing.

Response so far to the Vein Cage "Killing Days..." CD has been great! In addition to the Shop page here, it's available through CDBaby, Storming The Base and Music Non Stop, for those of you who order from those great folks. More outlets will be announced as they are confirmed. Of course, order here and get that free pin while we still got 'em.

I had the strangest dream last night, folks. It was light all night, like that movie Insomnia. And I dreamt one of those dreams where you hear the "best song ever" and try to remember it when you wake up. And of course it fades right away.
7.16.07
We're welcoming Vein Cage to the site in a more official capacity, so there is now a full Vein Cage section.
The "Killing Days..." CD is at the plant, and should be arriving on our doorstep any day now. Pre-orders are officially being taken. All copies of this new, outstanding Vein Cage CD ordered directly from Radio Valkyrie Records will ship with a free 1.5" pinback button with the Vein Cage logo, while supplies last. Pre-order now!
Also, for the 'duration of the lasting of supplies', all orders will ship with a free Out Out sticker.
We expect the "Killing Days..." CD to ship officially on the 31st of July, but all pre-orders will hit the post office within a day or two of the CDs actually arriving here... so jump to it!
6.20.07
The cover art for Vein Cage's "Killing Days... The Lost Years" is basically complete, and we expect to send everything off to be printed and pressed really soon. Perhaps by week's end! Peter DiNardi contributed some insightful (and quite moving) liner notes as well. We'll be updating the Discography page soon (even though it really was a solo record of Peter's, I played some keyboards and did some programming, and compiled and edited all of the demos and rough mixes into an album, so I'm going to bend the rules a little and include it.) Also, pre-orders will be announced soon.
There is a nice review of Pepperbox Muzzle: Demobox from Side-Line.com up on the reviews page. As I'm not giving a single complete set away, they only reviewed the music, not the packaging... but it's pretty great nonetheless. (Promos are available of just the music upon request for certain media folks. Just email me and we'll discuss.)
Just a couple of shameless commerce reminders: We're running low on the autographed back-catalog CDs. Really low. But there are still a couple of most titles. Help fund the new Vein Cage and Out Out CDs and pick up a little custom something for yourself, too. We've also got some T-Shirts left, but some sizes are almost gone, down to one left! And there is only one or two more of the Electropolis Volume 1 CD left... Show some love - support some indie music - buy some stuff. :) Thanks!
5.25.07
Peter DiNardi is working up some liner notes for the Vein Cage "Killing Days... The Lost Years" CD. Thanks to everyone who's been picking up stuff like the Demobox, T-Shirts, autographed back catalog CDs and all that, we've got enough money to press it! The cover art is almost done, and we hope to have them master at the plant soon.
I have to point out something kind of distressing. In a recent interview, Trent Reznor mentioned that he admittedly steals music (by illegal downloading) but then goes on to say that it must hurt when you're the one making the music and having it stolen. Well, you can't have it both ways, and now, thanks to his highly visible stature, people now have one more reason to not pay for music - if it's okay for Trent, it music be okay for them. Well, Trent might be in a position where illegal downloading and CD copying doesn't affect him much - he's one of the small percentage of artists big enough to make money touring and on merchandise that actual music sales aren't as important - but the vast majority of independent musicians and labels aren't in that position. They depend on the music sales as well as the merchandise to make money. Every penny counts. And touring/live shows being profitable? Only the biggest acts make real money touring. For most, the definition of a succesful tour is one that doesn't lose money.
Why am I mentioning this? To try to remind people that we have a real problem on our hands. It's up to the music listeners to keep music alive. Not paying for the music you listen to is one good way to really hurt the bands you like. Do I think Trent is a bad person? No. Should he be stealing music? Hell no. He certainly can afford to pay for what he wants, why does he have to steal?
What can you do to help? Tell your friends. Spread the word. Independent artists and labels are getting killed by file "sharing" and CD copying. Feel free to copy this banner (please don't link to it - bandwidth is limited over here) and post it on your website, or MySpace page. Thanks for listening, and for supporting the independent musicians you listen to.

The Pepperbox Muzzle T-Shrits are in! Get yours while they're hot, or more accurately, while they last. We didn't print a ton of them (budget contstraints and all that) and they ended up being a tiny bit more expensive than we hoped, but I think the price is still reasonable. Besides, in the quanitity they exist in, they're collector's items...
Sadly, I've had to raise the prices of most of the stuff on the Shop page to reflect the recent large hike in postal costs for packages. Argh. It's only a buck per item, but I hate to have to do it. The T-Shirt cost was figured to include the new postal rates, so it didn't go up, and the Demobox was also figured to be a little higher in postal costs (due to its weight) so I kept that price the same as well. Chalk it up to the price of oil, I suppose. (I mean, wow, it now costs over seven dollars to ship a CD and a T-Shirt from here to California!)
5.10.07
Printing is done for the Pepperbox Muzzle: Demobox box set. Pre-orders are shipping as we get the box sets assembled! Also, there is a T-Shirt being printed, and should be available on the Shop page sometime next week.
Thanks to all those who've been ordering the box set and other stuff - we're gonna have the funds to release more stuff this year for sure now!
5.2.07
Avid fans of Out Out, especially of the first CD "Pepperbox Muzzle" should be interested in the new "Pepperbox Muzzle: Demobox" 2 CD set! Packaged in a screened/stenciled metal tin, with liner notes on vellum cards, two pin-back buttons and a sticker, this set contains the entire original cassette version of Pepperbox Muzzle as it was released on Turn Of The Century Records in 1989, and a second set of demos from that same era, up until the re-working of the album for release on Axis in early 1991. Only four of the songs on the original album are the same recordings as represented on the later Axis and Metropolis versions! Limited to 100 or so copies (maybe fewer, perhaps more, if demand and supplies merit) this one won't last long. A CD-R pressing, we're using the highest quality Taiyo Yuden media, which has a great glossy look. (And is some of the highest-rated media as far as audio CDs and reliability go.) After this set is sold out, many of these tracks will never be released again in any form. That's right. When they're gone, they're gone.
It's been a lot of fun putting this set together the past few months, and as a lot of it is handmade, and based on the original cassette's photocopy cover art and photos from that time period, it's been an interesting trip to the past for me. As part of the ongoing "bake sale" to raise money for more releases this year, I have high hopes for it's success. Thanks to my friend Caleb Wetmore from The Mitchells (great guitar band, check them out >>here<<) for doing the screening and vellum printing.
Spinnin': Nine Inch Nails' "Year Zero", Laika's "Good Looking Blues", Antena's "Toujours Du Soleil" and Spouse's "Relocation Tactics" CDs.
4.14.07
A couple of updates in the Discography page are up. And another addition to the "bake sale", too - for those seeking the one of the first four CDs - on CD, that is, as they're available all over at places like iTunes now - we've got a few used copies in terrific condition we're letting go of over here. But to make it more worth your while, we're offering them autographed, with any custom message (of reasonable legnth)! There are only a few copies available, and they're already going fast. See the Shop page for details. Oh yeah, it's worth mentioning again that all proceeds are to help fund a couple "regular" CD releases this year, so thanks in advance for the support!
3.6.07
We're having a bake sale! Well, not really - there's no brownies or cookies or anything - but on the Shop page is the first item to be offered to help raise funds for this year's official releases. The item in question is a limited number of the Boston Elektro 101 compilation. I found a small stash of them, new and still sealed, in a box here at Radio Valkyrie headquarters, and as it's become pretty hard-to-find and collectable, I'm offering every sealed copy I have for sale for a pretty reasonable $10 each, including shipping. Limit one per customer, please! (Non-US and Canada orders, there is a button to add $2 to help with the increased postage...) All proceeds to fund some great new stuff. While you're at it, if you don't have "1989-1999" or "Virtual Sound Images"... hint hint. :)
There will be some more limited items up soon, so check back often!
Many have been asking about "The Rattle Of The Cavity" and when it will be available for downloading... and the best I can say is 'soon'. It's in the pipeline to all the major shops, but none have it listed yet. Could be a few more weeks. Sorry about that. Check back occasionally - when it hits iTunes and all that I'm sure to reflect that here.
In/on the player: Echo and the Bunnymen's "Siberia" CD, the I Am Jen CD EP, the Pamela Means Jazz Project "Volume 1" CD (okay, I recorded that one...) Section 25's "Love and Hate" LP, and a whole bunch of Pandora Radio.
2.12.07
How do you know you've "arrived"? I'm not sure, but if making it into a 20-question quiz on whether one is "Goth" or not is any indication... check it out >>here<<.
2.7.07
Well, here in the new year our goals are lofty. I'm going to try and get several releases out the door. The first is on its way to all the major download shops out there, like iTunes, and should be available within weeks. It's a companion to 2005's "!989-1999: 'Hasten the Burning With the Breath of Fools" 2-CD anthology, called "The Rattle of the Cavity". It contains some hard-to-find compilation tracks, 12" single b-sides, and a couple of unreleased items I found in the vaults. For the completist, really, I suppose, but I feel like a completist with this material - I want it all available if people want it.
There is still the Vein Cage "Killing Days - The Lost Years" CD on the horizon, very soon, with the next Out Out CD "Assumed Outrivaling" following as soon as it's financially possible to press it.
And with a little luck and time, a special, limited, hand-numbered edition of the original cassette version of "Pepperbox Muzzle", with demos and outtakes from the pre-Pepperbox era will be on CD for the first time. If all goes to plan, there will be some extra goodies included with the CD.
I'm still trying to suss a good way to offer T-Shirts without sapping the CD pressing budget, too. People have been writing saying that they'd like T-Shirts, and a few good suggestions on economical ways of providing them suggested, but I'm looking to find a method that is a good mix of affordability and flexibility in providing the sizes people want.
Wish us luck over here getting all this done, and stay tuned.
