Artists and bands, please download the agreement PDF >>here<< by right- or option-clicking and saving to your local drive. Please fill it out (print, fill it out, and scan it if you have to) and send us that hard copy with your signature to the address on the form. Without a signed hard copy, we will not be able to include your track on the compilation.

If you have any questions about the form, please email us via the Contact page!

Please also email us (via the contact page here) with your band name in the subject header, so we can easily and quickly contact you with any questions.

Then, in your own words, please write a paragraph, a short essay, containing your thoughts, addressing the fans, as to how you feel the current climate of music, file "sharing"/p2p/torrents, touring, labels, money, making a living or anything like that is affecting you. Please address your thoughts on the mutual respect between artist and fan, or how challenging it is to keep a day job and still make music, or how much you spend to record or release music, or how much your gas money is on the road. Anything you think is important for the public to know, to dispel the many myths about what we all go through to pursue our art and bring it to the world.

IMPORTANT: If you want your website or primary contact information in the booklet, you must also send that to us!

Submit the finished mixes to us as 24bit, 44.1kHz stereo interleaved WAV or AIFF files. Please don't "master" them yourself - we'll be doing that, and if people mash their mixes just to make them loud it will make the daunting task of mastering a multiple-CD compilation that much harder. That said, if you have particular notes you'd like to include as requests for mastering, we'll do what we can to accomodate. If you need a place to upload the files to, let us know. There are, of course, lots of file transfer services out there that are sometimes used for legitimate purposes such as this, too, so that's a possibility. Alternately, you can mail a CD-R with the data file on it to us. No Audio CD-Rs, please - data only! The address is on the Contact page.

Please bear in mind that by submitting a song and an essay you are not insured a spot on the compilation - we're going to try and get everyone on - maybe even stretching it to a 3 or 4 CD box set! - but several things have to be considered:
The first is cost. Mostly, Radio Valkyrie Records (which is really me, Mark Alan Miller) is paying for this at this point. And I'm not exactly raking in money here - so pressing costs might factor in as to how many CDs this can actually encompass. But we want to do it as big as possible.
The second is, honestly, the quality of the works submitted. We ask that people take into extra special consideration the quality of the tracks they submit - after all, this is partly about mutual respect between artist and fan, so let's not serve up anything but the best we can. To that end, if we feel a track is not up-to-snuff, we will address that on a case-by-case basis. And we expect (and hope, but really expect) that it's just not going to be a big issue.

Regarding the costs of doing this, please also consider looking at the Donate page.

Thanks-

Mark Alan Miller
